During the spring semester of 2025, MJM Electric reached out to a few of the local high schools to see if there would be interest in providing an opportunity to the talented high school students in our region. Gaither High School, in Northdale, was eager for the opportunity to provide their students with a real-world experience of creating marketing materials for a local business. Zach Sechrist, MJM Electric Director of Pre-Construction, worked closely with Mr. George Edington, Gaither teacher for Digital Design classes to come up with instructions for the students.
This opportunity was presented to the students in the form of an optional, voluntary participation but for a cash reward if the student’s design was chosen. In the end, three students presented professional, useable materials that MJM Electric will now incorporate into our marketing materials. Seniors Daniel Marino and Matt A’Hearn, as well as Junior Abner Sorto each worked with determination and resolve to create draft materials that were revised several times based on feedback provided to them to create the final products.
MJM Electric would like to thank- Gaither High School, Mr. Edington, Mr. Marino, Mr. A’Hearn and Mr. Sorto along with the other students who chose to participate in this process. We are pleased with the results and look forward to providing more opportunities similar to this in the future that encourage the intellectual development and use of talent of the youth in our area. This project both served a business need of MJM Electric as well as an opportunity for community engagement and give back to our future generations.
